Thematic Bible: The prince(s) of this world

Thematic Bible

Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. Then my Father will love him, and we will go to him and make our home within him. The one who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words. The words that you're hearing me say are not mine, but come from the Father who sent me. "I have told you this while I am still with you. read more.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything that I have told you. I'm leaving you at peace. I'm giving you my own peace. I'm not giving it to you as the world gives. So don't let your hearts be troubled, and don't be afraid. You have heard me tell you, "I'm going away, but I'm coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I'm going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am. I've told you this now, before I leave, so that when I do leave, you will believe. I won't talk with you much longer, because the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me.

However, I'm telling you the truth. It's for your advantage that I'm going away, because if I don't go away, the Helper won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment of sin, because they don't believe in me; read more.
of righteousness, because I'm going to the Father and you will no longer see me; and of judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

However, when we are among mature people, we do speak a message of wisdom, but not the wisdom of this world or of the rulers of this world, who are passing off the scene. Instead, we speak about God's wisdom in a hidden secret, which God destined before the world began for our glory. None of the rulers of this world understood it, because if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his gracious love and for his awesome deeds on behalf of mankind. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the counsel of the elders. He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into dry ground, read more.
and a fruitful land into a salty waste, due to the wickedness of its inhabitants. He turns a desert into a pool of water, dry land into springs of water. There he settled the hungry, where they built a city to live in. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a productive harvest. Then he blessed them, and they became numerous; he multiplied their cattle. But they became few in number, and humiliated by continued oppression, agony, and sorrow. Having poured contempt on their nobles, causing them to err aimlessly in the way.

Jesus replied, "This voice is for your benefit, not for mine. Now is the time for the judgment of this world to begin. Now the ruler of this world will be thrown out. As for me, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself."
