“Asher’s food [supply] shall be rich and bountiful,
And he shall yield and deliver royal delights.

Of Asher he said: Blessed above sons is Asher; let him be acceptable to his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil. Your castles and strongholds shall have bars of iron and bronze, and as your day, so shall your strength, your rest and security, be.


The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah; and Serah their sister. The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel, who was the father of Birzaith. Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, and Shua their sister. read more.
The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the sons of Japhlet. The sons of Shemer (Shomer) his brother: Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. The sons of his brother Helem (Hotham): Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal. The sons of Zophah: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera. The sons of Jether: Jephunneh, Pispa, and Ara. The sons of Ulla: Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia. All these were offspring of Asher, heads of their fathers' houses, approved men, mighty warriors, chief of the princes. Their number enrolled by genealogies for service in war, was 26,000 men.

There was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old, and had lived with her husband for seven years after her marriage,


“On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan, by their armies; and Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai shall lead the sons of Dan,

Encamped next to Dan [on the north side] shall be the tribe of Asher; and Pagiel the son of Ochran shall lead the sons of Asher,


Then the border turned to Ramah, [reaching] to the fortified city of Tyre; and it turned to Hosah, and it ended at the [Mediterranean] sea at the region of Achzib.


“Gilead remained beyond the Jordan;
And why did Dan live as an alien on ships?
Asher sat [still] on the seacoast,
And remained by its landings.
[These did not come to battle for God’s people.]


He sent messengers throughout [the tribe of] Manasseh, and the fighting men were also called together to follow him; and he sent messengers to [the tribes of] Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali, and they came up to meet them.

The men of Israel were summoned together from [the tribes of] Naphtali and Asher and all Manasseh, and they pursued Midian.


Yet some of the men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.


Of the tribe of Asher, 40,000 men in military service, able to draw up in battle formation.


These [tribes] shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce the curse [for disobedience]: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.


Then the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan, which was the rear guard of all the camps, set forward according to their companies; and over Dan's host was Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Asher was Pagiel son of Ochran.


Zilpah, Leah's maid, bore Jacob [her] second son. And Leah said, I am happy, for women will call me blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied); and she named him Asher [happy].


Of the sons of Asher according to their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites. Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites. And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah. read more.
These, the families of the sons of Asher according to their number, totaled 53,400.


The eleventh day Pagiel son of Ochran, leader of the sons of Asher, offered. His offering was one silver platter, the weight of which was 130 shekels, one silver basin of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a cereal offering; One golden bowl of ten shekels, full of incense; read more.
One young bull, one ram, one male lamb a year old, for a burnt offering; One male goat for a sin offering; And for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Pagiel son of Ochran.


Of the sons of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all able to go to war: Those of the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.


The fifth lot fell to the tribe of Asher according to their families. Their territory included: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph, Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal; and on the west it touched Carmel and Shihor-libnath. read more.
Then it turned eastward to Beth-dagon, touching Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah-el northward to Beth-emek and Neiel, and continued in the north to Cabul, Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, even to populous Sidon. Then the boundary turned to Ramah, reaching to the fortified city of Tyre; and it turned to Hosah, and ended at the sea -- "Mahalab, Achzib, Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob; twenty-two cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.


Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Acco or of Sidon or of Ahlab or of Achzib or of Helbah or of Aphik or of Rehob; But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land, for they did not drive them out.

from the tribe of the sons of Asher a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;


These are the families (clans) of the sons of Asher according to those who were numbered, 53,400.


from [the tribe of] Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;


Baana the son of Hushai, in [the tribe of] Asher and Bealoth;
