Thematic Bible: Those that eschew evil

The day came when heavenly beings appeared before Jehovah (YHWH). Satan was there among them. Jehovah asked him: What have you been doing? Satan replied: Would Job respect you if he got nothing out of it? You have always protected him and his family and everything he owns. You bless everything he does. You have given him enough cattle to fill the whole country.

Jehovah says: Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, the man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.
