About that time Hezekiah was sick unto the death. And the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, "Thus sayeth the LORD: put thine household in an order, for thou shalt die and not live." And Isaiah was scarce gone out into the middle of the city, but that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, "Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people: 'Thus sayeth the LORD God of David thy father. I have heard thy prayer and seen thy tears. Behold, I will heal thee, and this day three days thou shalt go up into the house of the LORD. And I will lengthen thy days yet fifteen years, and will deliver both thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and will defend this city for mine own sake, and for David my servant's sake." And Isaiah said, "Bring a lump of figs." And they brought and put it on the sore, and he recovered.
