(For the Pharisees and all of the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, holding firmly to the traditions of the elders;
“Why do Your disciples violate the tradition (religious laws) handed down by the [Jewish] elders? For Your disciples do not [ceremonially] wash their hands before they eat.”
hands » Were washed » In token of innocency
And all the elders of that city nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley, And they shall testify, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
hands » Were washed » After touching an unclean person
Whomever the one with the discharge touches without rinsing his hands in water shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
