All the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet, for they had put Athaliah to death by the sword.

They took an oath to the Lord in a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets, and with rams' horns. All Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn it with all their mind. They had sought Him with all their heart, and He was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.

Then Jehoiada put the oversight of the Lord’s temple into the hands of the Levitical priests, whom David had appointed over the Lord’s temple, to offer burnt offerings to the Lord as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and song ordained by David.

Then King Hezekiah and the officials told the Levites to sing praise to the Lord in the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with rejoicing and bowed down and worshiped.

Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over how God had prepared the people, for it had come about suddenly.

The Israelites who were present in Jerusalem observed the Festival of Unleavened Bread seven days with great joy, and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day after day with loud instruments.

The whole congregation decided to observe seven more days, so they observed seven days with joy,

There was great rejoicing in Jerusalem, for nothing like this was known since the days of Solomon son of David, the king of Israel.
