I know that ye are the seed of Abraham, but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father, and ye do what ye have seen with your father. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such. And because I say the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me? He, that is of God, receiveth the words of God; but ye therefore receive them not, because ye are not of God.

There were however many of the chief rulers that believed on Him; but because of the pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be excommunicated. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
