Then he took the cup saying: This represents the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Then he took a cup and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: Drink it all. This is (represents) (means) (exemplifies) my blood of the covenant, poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I shall not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
He took a cup, and when he had given praise, he gave it to them and they all had a drink from it. He said: This means (represents) my blood of the covenant given for men. Truly I say to you, I will take no more of the fruit of the vine till the day when I take it new in the kingdom of God.
