And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now to LORD our God for us.
The word which came to Jeremiah from LORD, when king Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying, Inquire, I pray thee, of LORD for us. For Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon makes war against us. Perhaps LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet to him into the third entry that is in the house of LORD. And the king said to Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.
