And the high priest rising, said to Him, Do you respond nothing? what are they witnessing against you?

And they continued to cry out more vociferously, saying, Let Him be crucified. And Pilate seeing that he profits nothing, but rather an uproar supervenes, having taken water, washed his hands in the presence of the multitude, saying, For I am free from the blood of this just one: you shall see to it. And all the people responding said, His blood be upon us, and upon our children. Then he released unto them Barabbas.And having scourged Jesus, delivered Him up that He should be crucified.

And certain ones began to spit on Him, and to cover His face, and to buffet Him, and say to Him, Prophesy: and the officers received Him with blows.
