When, therefore, the high priests and the officers saw Him, they cried out, "Crucify! crucify!" Pilate says to them, "Take ye Him, and crucify Him; for I find not a crime in Him."
And, while He was being accused by the high priests and elders, He answered nothing. Then says Pilate to Him, "Hearest Thou not how many things they testify against Thee?" And He did not answer him, not even to one word; so that the governor greatly wondered.
And the inscription of His accusation was written above Him, "THE KING OF THE JEWS."
And Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS." This title, therefore, many of the Jews read; because the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, in Greek. The high priests of the Jews, therefore, said to Pilate, "Write not, 'The King of the Jews,' but that He said, I am King of the Jews."read more.
Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written."
And Pilate said to the high priests and to the multitudes, "I find no fault in This Man."
Pilate, therefore, went out to them, and says, "What accusation do ye bring against this Man?"
And Pilate went out again, and says to them, "Behold, I bring Him out to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in Him."
