And he spoke this parable: A certain man had a fig-tree that was planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit on it, and found none. Then he said to his vine-dresser, Behold, for three years I have come and sought fruit on this fig-tree, and I have found none; cut it down; why does it occupy the ground unprofitably? But he answered and said to him, Sir, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and throw in manure;read more.
and it may bear fruit; but if not, after ward you shall cut it down.

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, have been grafted in among them, and partake with them of the root and fatness of the olive, boast not against the branches; but if you boast, boast not that you bear the root, but that the root bears you. You will say then: The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

I planted, Apollos watered: but God made to grow. So, neither he that plants nor he that waters is any thing: but God that makes to grow. But he that plants and he that waters are one; and each one shall receive his own reward, according to his own labor.
