He spoke also this parable: A certain man had a figtree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he to the vinedresser, Lo! three years I have come seeking fruit on this figtree, and have found none; cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering saith to him, Lord, let it alone this year also; till I shall dig about it, and dung it;read more.
and if it bear fruit hereafter, well; but if not, thou shalt cut it down.

And if some of the branches have been broken off, and thou, a wild olive, hast been grafted in among them, and become a partaker with them of the root and fatness of the olivetree, boast not over the branches; for if thou boast, thou dost not bear the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the growth. So then, neither he that planteth nor he that watereth is anything, but God that giveth the growth. And he that planteth and he that watereth are one; and each will receive his own reward, according to his own labor.
