And the Pharisee who invited him, seeing it, spoke within himself, saying, If this was a prophet he would have known who and what kind of a woman this is who touches him; for she is a sinner.

After these things Joseph from Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take down the body of Jesus; and Pilate permitted him. Then he came and took his body. And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it with bandages, with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to prepare for burial.
