And, lo! one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the highpriest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus saith to him, Put back thy sword into its place; for all they that take the sword will perish by the sword.
And one of those who stood by drew his sword, and smote the servant of the highpriest, and cut off his ear.
And they who were about him, seeing what would follow, said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And one of them smote the servant of the highpriest, and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answering said, Permit thus far; and touched his ear, and healed him.
