And LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men built. And LORD said, Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is what they begin to do. And now nothing will be withheld from them, which they propose to do. Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand each other's speech. So LORD scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore the name of it was called Babel, because LORD there confounded the language of all the earth, and from there LORD scattered them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim,
The king spoke and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling-place by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle. The things that ye carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary [beast].
