The kingdom of heaven is like to a certain king, who made a marriage for his son,

And Jacob said to Laban, Give me my wife (for my days are fulfilled) that I may go in to her. And Laban assembled all the men of the place, and made a feast.

So his father went down to the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.

And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.

And ye yourselves like men that wait for their lord, when he shall return from the wedding; that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may open to him immediately.

And he saith to them, Draw out now, and bear to the governor of the feast. And they bore it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was; (but the servants who drew the water knew) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

And he saith to me, Write, Blessed are they who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith to me, These are the true sayings of God.

And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birth-day, that he made a feast to all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

And when a convenient day had come, that Herod on his birth-day made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief men of Galilee;

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the day that Isaac was weaned.

And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

All they that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments to the LORD. And Hezekiah spoke comfortably to all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they ate throughout the feast seven days, offering peace-offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.

And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings they boiled in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.
