One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who has pity on the poor.
1 Timothy 4:12-14
Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching. Don't neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.
But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard.
Then Amos answered Amaziah, "I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs;
Then I said, "Lord Yahweh, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small."
Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged.
