5 Bible Verses about Carrying The Cross

Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone wants to follow me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross, and follow me continuously. Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it, because what profit will a person have if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life?

Carrying the cross all by himself, he went out to what is called The Place of a Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha.

As they were leaving, they found a man from Cyrene named Simon, whom they forced to carry Jesus' cross.

As they led Jesus away, they grabbed Simon, a man from Cyrene, as he was coming in from the country, and they put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.
