And thou shalt make a lampstand of pure gold; of beaten work shall the lampstand be made; its base and its branches, its bowls, its knops, and its flowers shall be of the same. And six branches shall come out of the sides of it, three branches of the lampstand out of the one side and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side, three bowls made like unto almonds with a knop and a flower in one branch, and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch with a knop and a flower; thus in the six branches that come out of the lampstand.read more.

And when he had made the pillars, he also made two orders of pomegranates round about upon the network to cover the chapiters that were upon the heads of the pillars with the pomegranates, and so did he for the other chapiter. And upon the top of the pillars was lily work, and so the work of the pillars was finished.

It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north and three looking toward the west and three looking toward the Negev and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward. And the thickness of it was a handbreadth and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies, and it received and held three thousand baths.

Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim and to the open flower of the beauty of their glory which is upon the head of the fertile valley of those that are overcome with wine! Woe unto those that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto those that are mighty to drink wine and men of strength to mingle strong drink; who justify the wicked for bribes and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Therefore as the fire devours the stubble and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go away as dust because they have cast away the law of the LORD of the hosts and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he has stretched forth his hand against them and has smitten them; and the mountains trembled, and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

The voice that said, Cry. And I said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the mercy thereof is as the open flower of the field: The grass withers, the flower fades because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it; surely the people is grass. The grass withers, the open flower fades; but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like an open flower and is cut down; he flees as a shadow and does not remain.

Like as a father has mercy upon his children, so the LORD has mercy upon those that fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass; as an open flower of the field, so he blossoms.read more.
For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place shall know it no more. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon those that fear him, and his righteousness unto the children's children, to such as keep his covenant and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

I will heal their rebellion; I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them. I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall flourish as the lily and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his glory shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.read more.
