And when thou art at prayer, use not vain repetitions, like the heathen: for they imagine that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things, the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were formerly darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light;read more.

O Timothy, guard the sacred deposit, avoiding profane trifling talk, and antitheses of misnamed science:

speaking one to another in psalms and hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing and making melody in the heart to the Lord;

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives.

How comes it then, brethren, that when ye assemble together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation? Let all things be done to edification.
