For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing His body, eats and drinks a judgment on himself.
He said to him, 'On the ground of what you say I will sentence you, you wicked slave! You knew that I was a stern man, that I picked up what I did not put down, and reaped what I did not sow.
Now we know that God's judgment justly falls on those who practice such sins as these.
And you, who pose as a judge of those who practice such sins and yet continue doing the same yourself, do you for once suppose that you are going to escape the judgment of God?
By faith Noah, on being divinely warned about things not seen as yet, in reverence prepared an ark for saving his family, and by his faith condemned the world and became possessor of the uprightness that results from faith.
For if the service connected with condemnation had such splendor, the service resulting in right standing with God will surely far surpass it in splendor.
And the gift is not fit all to be compared with the results of that one man's sin. For that sentence resulted from the offense of one man, and it meant condemnation, but the free gift resulted from the offenses of many, and it meant right standing.
So, as through one offense there resulted condemnation for all men, just so through one act of uprightness there resulted right standing involving life for all men.
For though the law could not do it, because it was made helpless through our lower nature, yet God, by sending His own Son in a body similar to that of our lower nature, and as a sacrifice for sin, passed sentence upon sin through His body,
"And when He comes, He will bring conviction to worldly people about sin and uprightness and judgment;
