They that are perverse in heart are an abomination to Jehovah; But such as are perfect in their way are his delight.

A perverse heart shall depart from me: I will know no evil thing. Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I destroy: Him that hath a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

He that hath a wayward heart findeth no good; And he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that, when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel; therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.
