In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; But he that refraineth his lips doeth wisely.

He that despiseth his neighbor is void of wisdom; But a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

He that spareth his words hath knowledge; And he that is of a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise; When he shutteth his lips, he is esteemed as prudent.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from troubles.

If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man's religion is vain.

For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:

The princes refrained from talking, And laid their hand on their mouth; The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

But Jehovah is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness, Neither shall my tongue utter deceit.

Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.

The plans of the heart belong to man; But the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah.

The Lord Jehovah hath given me the tongue of them that are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as they that are taught.

But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Jehovah, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.

By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God.

that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom, And his tongue speaketh justice.

And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beasts and birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind. But the tongue can no man tame; it is a restless evil, it is full of deadly poison. Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he layeth wait for him.

For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

A lying tongue hateth those whom it hath wounded; And a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression: Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things; Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

To keep thee from the evil woman, From the flattery of the foreigner's tongue.

Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and put out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.
