For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that every one who believeth in him should not perish, but have life eternal.

For I am assured that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor those to come, nor exaltation, nor deepest depression, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are fallen asleep, that ye be not afflicted, as the rest [of mankind] who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again, so also those that have fallen asleep for Jesus shall God bring with him. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we who are alive, who remain, shall be caught up together with them into the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, from henceforward: yea, saith the Spirit, that they may have rest from their labours; but their works follow after them.

Jesus answered and said to him, What I am doing thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I to you. Let not your heart be agitated, nor shrink back through fear.

And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more; nor shall mourning, nor crying, nor toil be any more: because the former things are passed away.

For he must reign, until he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy shall be destroyed, death.

and I give unto them everlasting life and they shall never perish to eternity, and no person shall pluck them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all and no one shall pluck them out of my Father's hand.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye have been sealed unto the day of redemption.

For I reckon that the sufferings of the present moment are not worthy to be placed against the future glory that shall be revealed to us.

And if I go and prepare you a place, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

For whether we live, to the Lord we live, and whether we die, to the Lord we die; whether therefore we live, or whether we die, we are the Lord's.
