On the next day, a great multitude that had come to the feast, having heard that Jesus was coming into Jerusalem, took branches of palm-trees, and went out to meet him, and cried: Hosanna, blessed is the king of Israel that comes in the name of the Lord. And Jesus, having found a young ass, sat upon him, as it is written:read more.
Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king comes, sitting on the colt of an ass. His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him. The multitude therefore that was with him, testified that he had called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead. For this reason, also, the multitude met him, be cause they had heard that he had done this sign. Then the Pharisees said among themselves: You see that you gain nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.

Then Pilate, therefore, took Jesus and scourged him. And the soldiers plaited a crown of thorn-branches, and put it upon his head; and they put on him a purple robe, and said: Hail, King of the Jews. And they struck him with their open hands.

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.

And he has, on his raiment and on his thigh, a name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords.
