Then they reached Capernaum. When He got home, He asked them, "What were you discussing on the way home?"
Where did John's baptism come from? From heaven, or from men?" They argued it out among themselves in this way, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say to us, 'Then why did you not believe him?'
Then they argued with one another in this way, "If we say, 'It was from heaven,' He will say, 'Then why did you not believe him?'
And they argued with one another, and said, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say, 'Why did you not believe him?'
And they held that caution fast in their minds, as they continued to discuss among themselves what rising from the dead meant.
But they had nothing to say, for they had discussed with one another which of them was to be the greatest.
So he went off and discussed with the high priests and captains of the temple how he could betray Him to them.
Then a discussion came up between John's disciples and a Jew about purification.
So Paul, as he usually did, went to the synagogue, and for three sabbaths discussed with them the Scriptures,
So he kept up his discussions in the synagogue with the Jews and the pagans who were worshiping there, and also day by day in the public square with any who chanced to be there.
Every sabbath it was Paul's habit to preach in the synagogue and to persuade both Jews and Greeks.
Then they came to Ephesus, and Paul left them there. He went into the synagogue and had a discussion with the Jews.
He went to the synagogue there and for three months courageously spoke, keeping up his discussions and continuing to persuade them about the kingdom of God.
But as some of them grew harder and harder and refused to believe, actually criticizing The Way before the people, he left them, withdrew his disciples, and continued his discussions in the lecture-hall of Tyrannus.
But the Jews kept on wrangling with one another and saying, "How can He give us His flesh to eat?"
But they ordered the prisoners to step outside the council, and they conferred together
and they have never found me debating with anybody in the temple nor making a disturbance in the synagogues or about the city,
Some people have stepped aside from these things and turned to fruitless talking.
