8 Bible Verses about Employment

You shall not defraud your neighbor nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not stay with you until the morning.

You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, of your brothers, or of your strangers that are in your land within your gates. At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it. For he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Jehovah, and it shall be sin to you.

For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox treading out grain," and, "The laborer is worthy of his reward."

Who can find a woman of virtue? For her value is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts safely in her, so that he shall have no need of plunder. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.read more.
She seeks wool and flax, and works willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from afar. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her sons rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Jehovah, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us. For we did not behave ourselves disorderly among you, neither did we eat any man's bread freely, but we worked with labor and travail night and day, so that we might not be heavy on any of you (not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example to you, to imitate us).read more.
