So whosoever may eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup; for the one eating and drinking, net discerning the body, eats and drinks condemnation to himself.read more.
Therefore many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. But if we judged ourselves, we would not be judged:
since you are seeking the approval of Christ, who is speaking in me, who is not weak towards you, bit mighty among you. For indeed he was crucified from weakness, but he lives by the power of God: for we indeed are weak in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God unto you. Prove your own selves, if you are in the faith; examine yourselves; whether do you not know yourselves, that Christ Jesus is in you? unless indeed you are reprobates.
But let each one prove his own work, and then he shall have rejoicing to himself alone, and not to another;
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous that he may forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
because if our heart may condemn us, it is because God is greater than our heart, and he knows all things. Beloved, if our heart may not condemn us, we have boldness toward God:
O hypocrite, first cast out the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to cast out the mote from the eye of your brother.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup;
Prove your own selves, if you are in the faith; examine yourselves; whether do you not know yourselves, that Christ Jesus is in you? unless indeed you are reprobates.
