40 Bible Verses about Faithlessness, As Disobedience

And when he comes, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in me;

and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men; for not all have faith.

To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are corrupted and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They profess to know God, but they deny him by their deeds; they are detestable and disobedient, unfit for any good deed.

Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, was in a furious rage, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all its region who were two years old or under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

Not only is there danger that this trade of ours fall into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis be regarded as worthless and that she whom all of Asia and the world worship will even be dethroned from her magnificence."

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Therefore I told to you that you would die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins."

so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in wickedness.

But as for the cowardly, the unbelieving, the immoral, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their lot will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

Though he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in him; that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: "Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"

Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and testify to what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

And the Father who sent me has himself testified of me. You have never heard his voice, nor seen his form. And you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe him whom he has sent. Yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.

Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me; but you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.

And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.

Now he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief. Then he went around the villages teaching.

Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." But when the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing; go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." But he fell sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

When Jesus heard it, he said to him, "One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." But when he heard this, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.

Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.

Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

"Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.

They said to him, "He will put those wretches to a miserable death, and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons."

What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants, and give the vineyard to others.

Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, as it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone that will make men stumble, and a rock that will make them fall; and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the rest to share the root of the olive tree, do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in."read more.
That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast only by faith. So do not be proud, but stand in awe. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.

So I ask, have they stumbled so as to fall? Certainly not! But through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make Israel jealous. Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness mean!

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But if God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you will eat or what you will drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

And behold, a great storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But he was asleep. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" And he said to them, "Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?" Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

But he was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. And they woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care if we perish?" Then he rose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. He said to them, "Why are you so afraid? Have you no faith?"

As they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in danger. And they went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; and they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and water, and they obey him?"

Then Jesus answered, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me." And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured from that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"read more.
So he said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you."

And one of the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought my son to you, who has a mute spirit. And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast out the spirit, but they could not." He answered him, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me."

I begged your disciples to cast it out, but they could not." Then Jesus answered, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here." While he was coming, the demon threw him and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

But Jesus, aware of this, said, "O men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered?

And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
