For this is he of whom it is written: "Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee."

And he answering said, He that hath dipped his hand with me in the dish, he will betray me. The Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been written concerning him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Well were it for that man if he had not been born.

And taking the twelve aside, he said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all that hath been written by the prophets concerning the Son of man will be accomplished. For he will be delivered up to the gentiles, and will be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon; and they will scourge him, and put him to death; and the third day he will rise again.

But when ye see Jerusalem encompassed by armies, then know that her desolation is at hand. Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let those who are within the city go out of it, and let not those in the open country enter it. For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.read more.
But woe to the women with child, and to those having children at the breast, in those days! but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I have come in my Fathers name, and ye receive me not; if another come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe while ye receive honor from one another, and seek not the honor that is from him who alone is God? Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye have placed your hope. For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me. But if ye do not believe his writings, how will ye believe my words?

I speak not of you all; I know whom I chose; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, "He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me."

But this cometh to pass, that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their Law: "They hated me without a cause."

While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me, and guarded them; and no one of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
