So the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He said, “Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers and has not listened to My voice, I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died, in order to test Israel by them, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk in it as their fathers did, or not.”read more.
So the Lord allowed those nations to remain, not driving them out quickly; and He did not give them into the hand of Joshua.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,

He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.

So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from His sight; none was left except the tribe of Judah. Also Judah did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the customs which Israel had introduced. The Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until He had cast them out of His sight.read more.
When He had torn Israel from the house of David, they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king. Then Jeroboam drove Israel away from following the Lord and made them commit a great sin. Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he and his mother and his servants and his captains and his officials. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!’”
