For the kingdom is the LORD's. He is the ruler over the nations.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.

When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.

The anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel; and he said, "Because this nation have transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not listened to my voice; I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations that Joshua left when he died; that by them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers kept it, or not."read more.
So the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.

He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive.

Come, see the LORD's works, what desolations he has made in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth."

He rules by his might forever. His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious rise up against him. Selah.

Who has raised up one from the east? Whom he called to his foot in righteousness? He hands over nations to him, and makes him rule over kings. He gives them like the dust to his sword, like the driven stubble to his bow.

He made from one every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings,

Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only. Also Judah did not keep the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made. Whoever there is among you of all his people, the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.'"
