And, behold, a certain woman in the city, who was a notorious offender, when she knew that Jesus was sitting at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster vessel of odoriferous balm, and standing at his feet behind him, began to water his feet with her tears, and to wipe them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the perfumed balm.read more.
And when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said within himself, If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of a woman this is that toucheth him; for she is a notorious sinner. My head with oil thou hast not anointed; but she hath anointed my feet with odoriferous balm. For which cause, I tell thee, her many sins are forgiven, for she hath loved much: but to whom a little is forgiven, he loveth little. And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they who sat at table with him began to say in themselves, Who is this, who even forgives sins? But he said unto the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

And it came to pass, as he drew nigh to Jerusalem, a certain blind man sat by the road-side begging: and hearing the multitude passing by, he inquired what was the cause. And they told him, that Jesus the Nazarean is going by.read more.

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abiah: and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elisabeth. And it shall give thee joy and exultation; and many shall rejoice at his birth: for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord; and he shall never drink wine, nor any intoxicating liquor; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn unto the Lord, their God. And he shall go forth before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to convert the hearts of fathers with their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people ready for the Lord.

But for this end obtained I mercy, that in me, the chief, Jesus Christ might shew forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to those who should after believe in him unto eternal life.
