20 Bible Verses about Importunity, Towards God

Evening, morning, and at noon, I will cry out in distress. He will hear my voice.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning? My God, I cry in the daytime, but you do not answer; in the night season, and am not silent.

Be merciful to me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.

LORD, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you.

Pray without ceasing.

Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,

saying, "There was a judge in a certain city who did not fear God, and did not respect man. A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, 'Give me justice against my adversary.' He would not for a while, but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,read more.
yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her justice, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.'" The Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won't God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:

For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers, requesting, if by any means now at last I may succeed by the will of God to come to you.

We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.

I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day

I sought your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word.

Out of the depths I have cried to you, LORD. Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.

Listen to my prayer, God. Do not hide yourself from my supplication. Attend to me, and answer me. I am restless in my complaint, and moan,

Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and animal, and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let them turn everyone from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.
