Then they spat in His face and beat Him with the fist. And others struck Him with the palms of their hands,
And when He had spoken this way, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so?
And plaiting a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
They answered and said to him, If he were not an evildoer, then we would not have delivered him up to you.
And after they had mocked Him, they took the robe off of Him and put His own clothing on Him and led Him away to crucify Him.
And those who passed by blasphemed Him, shaking their heads, and saying, You destroying the temple and building it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. And in the same way also the chief priests mocked, with the scribes and elders, saying,read more.
