But, I tell you, there were plenty of widows in Israel in Elijah's time, when the sky was closed for three years and a half, and there was a great famine all over the land,

Some of the bystanders when they heard it said, "The man is calling for Elijah!"
Some of the bystanders, when they heard it, said, "See! He is calling for Elijah!"
But the others said, "Let us see whether Elijah will come to save him."
One man ran off and soaked a sponge in common wine, and put it on the end of a stick and held it up to him to drink, saying, "Let us see whether Elijah does come to take him down!"
The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and celebrate by sending presents to one another, for these two prophets were a torment to the inhabitants of the earth.
