and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?

And he spoke a parable to them to show that they ought to pray always, and not be fainthearted: saying, There was in a certain city a judge, who feared not God, nor regarded man. And there was a widow in that city; and she kept coming to him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary!read more.
And he would not for some time. But afterward he said within himself, Though I neither fear God, nor regard man, yet, because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her; lest by coming for ever she weary me out. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And will not God avenge his chosen, who cry to him day and night, though he be slow to punish in their behalf? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. But yet, when the Son of man cometh, will he find faith on the earth?

since it will be just with God to repay distress to them that distress you, and to you the distressed rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be manifested from heaven, with the angels of his might,

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil; the Lord will reward him according to his works;

the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unrighteous under punishment to the day of judgment;

Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints and ye apostles and ye prophets! for God hath avenged you on her.

for true and righteous are his judgments; for he hath judged the great harlot, who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

But if that servant say in his heart, My lord is long in coming; and begin to beat the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and drink and be drunken, the lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the unfaithful.

Nay, brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers. Now therefore it is altogether an evil among you, that ye have suits against each other. Why do ye not rather submit to wrong? Why do ye not rather allow yourselves to be defrauded? But ye yourselves wrong, and defraud, and that too your brethren.

that no one should go beyond and overreach his brother in the matter; because the Lord is the avenger in respect to all these things, as we also told you before and solemnly testified.

Come now, ye rich men, weep and wail for your miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are become motheaten; your gold and silver is rusted, and the rust of them will be a witness against you, and will eat your flesh as fire; ye have heaped up treasure in the last days!read more.
Behold, the hire of the laborers who reaped your fields, which is fraudulently kept back by you, crieth out; and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts. Ye have lived in luxury on the earth, and have been given to pleasure; ye have pampered your hearts in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned, ye have killed the just man; he doth not resist you.

Behold, he cometh with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
