And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before thee; I am no longer worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hired servants.

And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?

It is everywhere reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not even among the gentiles, that one should have his fathers wife. And ye are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, so that he that committed this deed might be separated from among you.

For I am already about to be offered as a sacrifice, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me at that day, and not to me only, but to all those who have loved his appearing.

and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall mourning, nor crying, nor pain he any more; for the former things are passed away.
