7 Bible Verses about Lamenting

Then Herod, when he saw that he was baffled by the wise-men, was very much enraged; and he sent and slew all the male-children in Bethlehem, and in all its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had exactly inquired of the wise-men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel bewailing her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

And He cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth a tumult, people weeping and lamenting greatly:

And they were all weeping and bewailing her: but He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

And there followed Him a great multitude of people, and of women, who also bewailed and lamented Him: but Jesus turning to them said,

The Jews therefore that were with her in the house to comfort her, seeing Mary that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She is going to the grave to weep there. Then Mary, when she came where Jesus was and saw Him, fell down at his feet, saying unto Him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. Jesus therefore, when He saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping, that came with her, groaned in spirit and was troubled.

And some pious men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation for him.
