Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD and spread it before the LORD.

And when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? Only consider, and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me."

And the king went up to the house of the LORD, and with him all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the priests and the prophets, all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the LORD.

So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard, on the first day of the seventh month.

Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the hearing of Jeremiah the prophet.

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah: "When you come to Babylon, see that you read all these words,

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read.

and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah.

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.

After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, "Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, say it."

For we are not writing to you anything other than what you read and acknowledge and I hope you will fully acknowledge--

When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ,

And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and see that you also read the letter from Laodicea.

I put you under oath before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.

Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.

And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, "I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD." And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. And Shaphan the secretary came to the king, and reported to the king, "Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the LORD." Then Shaphan the secretary told the king, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a book." And Shaphan read it before the king.

the letter that you sent to us has been plainly read before me.

Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a scroll at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD that he had spoken to him.

I Tertius, who wrote this letter, greet you in the Lord.

"Because of all this we make a firm covenant in writing; on the sealed document are the names of our princes, our Levites, and our priests.

And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground.

When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book to the very end, Moses commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, "Take this Book of the Law and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

So the men went and passed up and down in the land and wrote in a book a description of it by towns in seven divisions. Then they came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh,

"All this he made clear to me in writing from the hand of the LORD, all the work to be done according to the plan."

And he asked for a writing tablet and wrote, "His name is John." And they all wondered.

Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek.

We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth.

And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, "Read this," he says, "I cannot read."
