Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God. I am the LORD.

And straightway his ears were opened, and that which bound his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. And he charged them that they should tell no one; but the more he commanded them, so much more and more they published it and were beyond measure astonished, saying, He has done all things well: he makes both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak.
When those who were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And one of them smote the slave of the prince of the priests and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear and healed him.
