Do not accept gold or silver or even copper money for your purse, and do not take a bag for your journey, nor two shirts, nor any shoes, nor a staff, for the workman deserves his support.

So He said to them, "Take nothing with you for your journey, no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, nor even have two shirts.

Do not carry a purse, a bag, or shoes, and do not stop to say 'Good morning' to anybody on the road.

He ordered them not to take anything for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in the purse;

Then He said to them, "When I sent you out without purse or bag or shoes, you did not need anything, did you?" They answered, "Nothing at all."
