20 Bible Verses about Not Honouring Parents

Neither shall he come near to any dead person, nor defile himself for his father nor for his mother.

He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, or for his brother, or for his sister, when they die, because his separation to his God is upon his head.

There is a generation that curses their father, and does not bless their mother.

Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in deep darkness.

The eye that mocks at his father and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

He who assaults his father and chases away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.

Cursed is he who thinks lightly of his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

In you they have despised father and mother. In your midst they have dealt with the stranger by oppression. In you they oppressed the orphan and the widow.

For the son dishonors the father; the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man's enemies are the men of his own household.

and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you voided the commandment of God by your tradition.

But you say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban! (that is, A gift to God, whatever you may profit by me)

and you no longer allow him to do anything toward his father or mother,

He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

who said to his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; and he has not acknowledged his brothers, nor knew his own son, for they have observed Your Word and kept Your covenant.
