And they returned to Joshua, and said to him, Let not all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai. Do not make all the people to toil there, for they are but few. So there went up there of the people about three thousand men. And they fled before the men of Ai.

Pride [is] before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

But having answered, Peter said to him, If all men will be caused to stumble by thee, I will never be caused to stumble. Jesus said to him, Truly I say to thee, that in this night, before a cock sounds, thou will deny me thrice.

And he comes to the disciples, and finds them sleeping. And he says to Peter, So ye could not watch with me one hour.

Correct! They were broken off for their unbelief, and thou stand by thy faith. Be not high-minded but fear, for if God spared not the natural branches, perhaps neither will he spare thee.

Therefore let him who seems to stand take heed lest he fall.

Because thou say, I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and do not know that thou are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.
