But Peter answered and said to Him, though they should all be offended in thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I tell thee that this night, before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice.

And coming to the disciples, he findeth them asleep, and saith to Peter, what! could ye not watch with me one hour?

Well; they were broken off for their infidelity, and thou standest by faith: therefore be not high-minded but fear. For if God spared not the natural branches, neither would He spare thee.

Wherefore let him, that thinks he standeth, take heed least he fall.

because thou sayst, I am rich, and wealthy, and have want of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.
