Therefore, because He Himself lives always to intercede for them always, He is able to save completely any and all who come to God through Him.

But as your first duty keep on looking for His standard of doing right, and for His will, and then all these things will be yours besides.

My God will amply supply your every need, through Christ Jesus, from His riches in glory.

You must have a turn of mind that is free from avarice; you must be content with what you have, for God Himself has said, "I will never fail you, I will never forsake you." So we can confidently say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can men do to me?"

But when the king came in to take a look at the guests, he saw there a man who did not have on a wedding suit. So he said to him, 'My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding suit on?' But his lips were sealed.

"Then He will say to those at His left, 'Be gone from me, you who are now cursed, to the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For when I was hungry you gave me nothing to eat, when I was thirsty you gave me nothing to drink, when I was a stranger you did not welcome me to your homes, when I needed clothes you did not put them on me, when I was sick and in prison, you did not look after me.'read more.
Then they will answer, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or needing clothes, or sick, or in prison, and did not wait on you?' Then He will answer, 'I solemnly say to you, every time you failed to do a good deed to one of these most insignificant people, you failed to do a good deed to me.' Then these will go away to everlasting punishment, but the upright to everlasting life."

To some people who were confident that they themselves were upright, but who scorned everybody else, He told the following story:

For if we go willfully sinning after we have received full knowledge of the truth, there is no sacrifice left to be offered for our sins, but only a terrifying prospect of judgment and that fiery indignation which is going to devour God's enemies.

For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of uprightness than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command committed to their trust. In them is verified the truth of the proverb, "A dog turns back to what he has vomited"; and of that other proverb, "A sow that has washed herself goes back to wallow in the mire."

If we claim "We are already free from sin," we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in our hearts. If we confess our sins, He is to be depended on, since He is just, to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from every wrong. If we claim "We have not sinned," we are making Him a liar, and His message is not in our hearts.

When people say, "Such peace and security!" then suddenly destruction falls upon them, like birth pains upon a woman who is about to become a mother, but they shall not escape, no, not at all.

And just as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be in the time of the Son of Man. People continued to eat, drink, marry, and be married, right up to the day when Noah went into the ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all. It was so in the time of Lot; people continued to eat, drink, buy, sell, plant, and build;

Continue charging the rich of this world to stop being haughty and not to fix their hope on a thing so uncertain as riches, but on God who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment;
