But the meaning of the parable is this: The seed is the word of God; those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil and takes the word from their heart, lest they should believe and be saved. Those on the rock are they that, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who, for awhile, believe, and in time of temptation apostatize.read more.
That which fell among thorns are those who hear, and so conduct them selves, that they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are those who, in a good and honest heart, hear the word, and keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

He answered and said to them: He that sows the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom; the tares are the sons of the Wicked One; the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels.read more.
