Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it on your pleasures.

but let him ask in faith, nothing doubting; for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, wind-driven and tossed. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

And He spake also this parable to some who had trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the rest: Two men went up into the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-collector. And the centurion, answering, said, "Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldest enter under my roof, but only speak in a word, and my boy shall be healed;

And Jesus was going with them. And now, when He was not far distant from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, "Lord, trouble not Thyself; for I am not worthy that Thou shouldest come under my roof.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God; and whatsoever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and do the things that are pleasing before Him.

And Jesus, answering, said to them, "Verily I say to you, if ye have faith, and do not doubt, not only the withering of the fig tree shall ye accomplish, but, even if ye say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up, and be cast into the sea,' it shall be done. And all things whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

And Jesus, answering, saith to them, "Have the faith of God. Verily I say to you, whosoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says comes to pass; he shall have it. Therefore, I say to you, all things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye received them, and ye shall have them.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you; for every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you who, if his son shall ask him for bread, will give him a stone?read more.
Or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? If, therefore, ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those asking Him?

And, when He entered into Capernaum, there came to Him a centurion, beseeching Him. and saying, "Lord, my boy has been prostrated in my house, a paralytic, fearfully afflicted." And He saith to him, "Having gone, I will heal him."read more.

And I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven; but the sons of the Kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth." And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; as you believed, be it done to you." And the boy was healed in that hour.

After He finished all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered into Capernaum. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, being ill, was about to die. And, having heard about Jesus, he sent to Him elders of the Jews, asking Him, that, having come, He would thoroughly save his servant.read more.
And they, coming to Jesus, were earnestly beseeching Him, saying, "He is worthy for whom Thou shalt do this; for he loves our nation, and he built the synagogue for us." And, going forth thence, Jesus withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a Canaanitish woman, having come forth out of those borders, cried out, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon!" But He answered her not a word. And His disciples, coming near, were beseeching Him, saying, "Send her away; for she is crying after us!"read more.
But He, answering, said, "I was not sent, except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But she, coming, was worshiping Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" And He, answering, said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and cast it to the little dogs." But she said, "Yes, Lord; for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from the master's table." Then Jesus, answering, said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! be it done to you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour.

And, rising up, He went thence into the borders of Tyre and Sidon; and, entering into a house, He wished no one to know it. And He could not be hid. But straightway a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of Him, coming, fell down at His feet. And the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. And she kept asking Him to cast forth the demon out of her daughter.read more.
And He said to her, "Suffer the children first to be satisfied; for it is not good to take the children's bread, and cast it to the little dogs." But she answered, and says to Him, "Yes, Lord; even the little dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs." And He said to her, "Because of this word go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter." And, going away into her own house, she found the child laid upon the bed, and the demon gone out.

Verily, verily, I say to you, he that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go to the Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, this will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it.
