At that time Jesus spake and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and the intelligent, and hast revealed them to babes: yes, Father! since such is thy good pleasure.
Thus shall the last be first, and the first last; for many are called, but the elect are few.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached through the whole world for a testimony to all the nations: and then shall come the final close.

For ye see your calling, brethren, that not many fleshly wise, not many men in power, not many men of high birth, are called: but the foolish things of this world hath God elected, that he might confound the wise; and the feeble things of the world hath God elected, that he might confound the mighty; and the ignoble things of the world, and the despicable, hath God elected, and the things that are not, to bring to nought the things which are,read more.
